The ITW e.V. Chemnitz acts with its 36 employees as a user- oriented, industry related research and service facility in the network of SIG. Major partners are companies from the automotive industry and the mechanical engineering, plant construction and the tool and mold making industry.

Mechanics with intelligence and flexibility

Drive and control technology in conjunction with information technology dominates the mechanical and automotive engineering. ITW is a partner for the development and series production of new control concepts, modern drive systems, integrated metrology and sensor - actuator systems.

The institute develops process modifications and new applications for the prototypical mold manufacturing, precision laser and water jet cutting and hybrid technologies such as laser-assisted cutting and machining.

Competence in 3D digitizing, 3D measurement technology, integrated image processing systems in conjunction with high-performance software solutions form the basis for innovative solutions in measuring and testing technology, knowledge-based evaluation and process control for automation and quality assurance.
